The Waubic is a family owned & operated business, serving folks on the river since 1913.
Sitting atop the Trent Severn Waterway, The Waubic is an energetic, friendly, family operated restaurant. It has been providing guests with a unique dining experience and great home cooking since 1913. Such rich history is present within it’s walls, and while the owners and style of cuisine has changed many times over the past hundred plus years, the charm and appeal has remained.
On any given day The Waubic docks can be a sea of boats, planes, jet skis, kayaks and canoes. Some come for a meal, some come for cocktails and a day in the sun, while others come and stay for a relaxing few days on their boat or our Bayhouse. They all however, come to enjoy great food, personal service and a serene experience on the water.

Located on the Severn River between Lock 43 & Big Chute
Built in 1913, The Waubic sits between Lock 43 and the historic Big Chute Marine Railroad at Lock 44, making us one of the few remaining boat access only destinations for cottagers and boaters to visit. The docks are not exclusive to boats though, as float planes often join us on the patio.

MEET OUR CREW
In 2002 George and Jenny Fleet purchased The Waubic as a rundown and abandoned retirement project. Seeing The Waubic as a hidden gem, our crew of family members have been involved in its rebirth since day one. Together as a team we have rebuilt, rebranded and breathed new life into The Waubic.
Our Waubic Crew is a small but hard working group of family members. In the course of a day, everyone of us may change roles many times while working from before opening, until long after we close. With many hours of “behind the scenes” chores, a typical day for The Waubic family can be 18 hours long. When you greet your server they may not be just your server, they could also be your bartender, your cook or the owner.
At the beginning of 2017, the next generation stepped in as their daughter Karen and her family took over the business and hired some of our first “out of family” staff members. While they may not be blood related, our hard working staff have become an integral part of our Waubic family. The everyday face who create your Waubic experience may change from season to season, but the passion and commitment from our entire family remains constant.
